Why we run a cricket academy on a school ground

A full ground, professional coaching and a school timetable in the same place. What that changes for a child who is serious about the game.

Why we run a cricket academy on a school ground

A child who is serious about cricket in a district like Malihabad usually has to choose. Either the school timetable wins and the coaching is a weekend afterthought, or the coaching wins and the academics quietly slide.

Running the Cricket Academy of Pathans on our own ground removes that choice. Training happens either side of the school day, on the same campus, supervised by the same staff who know what the child's term marks look like. Nobody travels to Lucknow city and back at six in the morning.

What that looks like in practice. Net sessions and ground work in a structured block, a coach who has played the game at a level above the district, and match exposure against sides that are actually better — which is the part most local coaching misses. A child who only ever plays inside their own school never finds out where they stand.

For boarders it goes further. A trainee living on campus has the ground, the prep hour and the dining hall within a few hundred metres of each other, so the twelve hours a week that ordinarily go into travel go into training or study instead.

The point is not to manufacture professional cricketers; very few schools anywhere can claim that honestly. The point is that a child who wants to find out how far the game can take them should not have to sacrifice their Class X result to find out.
